Our Mission:

FBC exists to lead people to know God and make Him known.

The mission of the universal Church is to produce disciples who know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and to make His name known among the nations.  These are the two great purposes of mankind.  “And this is eternal life, that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent” (John17:3)

We are called to know Jesus both initially and intimately.  Initially, we come into relationship with Jesus by way of the Holy Spirit's work in us through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus and the redeeming grace of God.  Intimately, we grow in our relationship with Him by the Word, by prayer, and in obedience to His word.

We are called to make Him known as well.  We accomplish this through discipleship and demonstration.  As the church, we are commanded in Matthew 28:19 to "go and make disciples of all nations..."  Discipleship is pivotal to the work of the universal Church.  We also make Him known by way of demonstration.  Throughout the new testament, we are called to serve, to evangelize, to love, and to be on mission through good deeds.

At FBC Bristow, this mission is best displayed in our study of the Word and our work in the community around us.
